AI Engineer

About the role

You will design and deliver AI that goes into daily use: retrieval over a company's private documents, agents that complete a task end to end, and the evaluation and guardrails that keep them dependable. You own each system from first prototype to handover, and you are measured by whether it holds up once a business runs on it.

What you'll do

• Design and deliver AI features end to end: retrieval, agents, structured extraction, and the APIs around them.
• Build the evaluation, monitoring, and guardrails that keep a model dependable in daily use.
• Recognise when AI is the wrong tool, and build the simpler automation instead.
• Hand over documented, monitored systems a client's team can run on their own.

What we're looking for

• You have taken an LLM or ML system into production, and can point to it.
• Strong general engineering: you build the service around the model, not just call an API.
• Fluent in Python and/or TypeScript, and quick to read an unfamiliar codebase.
• You think in trade-offs and write for whoever reads the code next.

Nice to have

• Retrieval, evaluation frameworks, or agent tooling.
• Document AI, OCR, or finance data.
• Open-source work we can look at.
